YAP Fees and Potential Earnings
YAP Fees Explained
At Yoga at the Park (YAP), we believe in transparency when it comes to fees. As an instructor, it’s important to understand how our fees work so you know exactly what to expect when you receive payments for your classes. Below, we’ve outlined how fees are calculated and what portion of each transaction goes to you.
How YAP Fees Work
When you set a price for your class, that amount is what your students will pay per person. YAP charges a small fee to keep the platform running smoothly and to provide you with all the tools you need to successfully host your classes. Additionally, there is a standard card processing fee that applies to each transaction.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- Instructor Earnings: You receive the full amount that you charge per student, less our YAP fee and the card processing fee.
- YAP Fee: $3 per student.
- Card Processing Fee: 3.5% of the transaction amount.
Example Breakdown
Let’s say you set the price for your class at the minimum of $15 per person. Here’s how the fees would be deducted:
- Class Price per Student: $15.00
- YAP Fee: -$3.00
- Card Processing Fee (3.5% of $15): -$0.53
- Total Earnings per Student: $11.47
So, in this example, out of the $15 that each student pays, you would receive $11.47 after the YAP fee and processing fee are deducted.
Custom Pricing
If you choose to set a higher price for your class, the same fee structure applies. For example, if you charge $20 per student:
- Class Price per Student: $20.00
- YAP Fee: -$3.00
- Card Processing Fee (3.5% of $20): -$0.70
- Total Earnings per Student: $16.30
The higher the class price, the more you earn per student after fees.
Why These Fees?
The YAP fee helps us maintain the platform, provide customer support, and continuously improve your experience as an instructor. The card processing fee is standard across the industry and covers the cost of handling secure online transactions.
No Hidden Fees
We want to make sure you know exactly what to expect with every transaction. The fees outlined here are the only ones that apply—no surprises, no hidden charges.

Potential Earnings as a Full-Time YAP Instructor ( 15 hours per week)
Are you considering teaching yoga full-time with Yoga at the Park (YAP)? Here’s an example scenario to help you understand what your earnings could look like if you set a goal to teach consistently.
Scenario Overview
- Classes per Day: 2
- Participants per Class: 20
- Days per Week: 5
- Class Price per Student: $15 (minimum per person)
Weekly Earnings Calculation
Let’s break down the potential earnings:
Total Participants per Week:
2 classes/day × 20 participants/class × 5 days/week = 200 participants/week
Total Earnings per Week Before Fees:
200 participants × $15/student = $3,000/week
Total YAP Fees per Week:
200 participants × $3 YAP fee = $600/week
Total Card Processing Fees per Week:
3.5% of $3,000 = $105/week
Total Earnings per Week After Fees:
$3,000 - $600 (YAP fees) - $105 (processing fees) = $2,295/week
Monthly Earnings Calculation
Now, let’s look at what this would add up to on a monthly basis:
- Total Earnings per Month After Fees:
$2,295/week × 4 weeks = $9,180/month
Annual Earnings Calculation
Finally, if you maintain this schedule consistently throughout the year:
- Total Earnings per Year After Fees:
$9,180/month × 12 months = $110,160/year
Summary of Potential Full-Time Earnings
By teaching two classes per day with 20 participants per class, 5 days per week at a minimum rate of $15 per student, you could potentially earn $110,160 per year after fees.
